Do You Feel Like a Mistake?

God is available 24/7 to us every single day. He gave up His one and only Son to die in our place for our sins. Why? Simply because He loves us that much and more. It’s impossible for us to fully comprehend that kind of unconditional love. God created you because He loves you and wants a relationship with you.

God is always 100% right in every way and in every aspect. He is absolute truth, and the truth is the opposite of a lie. He is not only righteous but complete perfection so He never makes a mistake or changes His mind. Have you ever told God that He made a mistake when he created you? Many of us have probably felt that way at some point in our life. Rest assured you are not a mistake and God has a good plan for your life that existed before you were in your mother’s womb. The goal here is to tell you to stop feeling like a mistake and start feeling like the Child of God that you are!

If you believe you are a mistake or a screw up this means you are believing Satan’s lies and not God’s truth. Whenever you cut yourself down this is in essence saying to God you don’t believe Him. If you fall into this category start believing the truth and watch your self-esteem improve. The words we say to ourselves are so important. They affect our beliefs, and actions. Take every negative thought captive and replate it with a positive thought or Bible verses. This helps to retrain your brain and can help change a negative mindset to a positive one. The Bible tells us we are all God’s masterpiece so let’s start thinking like it.

Listed below are a few examples of some positive affirmations and Bible verses to counteract the thoughts of feeling like a mistake. The more you say these positive words the more change that will occur. Don’t expect to see a night and day difference in just a week or two. Stick with it and fight against the lie.

Positive Affirmations

  • I am a Child of God and worthy of love.
  • I am beautiful on the inside and out.
  • No one loves me like Jesus does.
  • The same power that raised Jesus from the grave lives in me.
  • I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 (WEB)
  • For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)

All these statements are true and if you don’t believe them then you need to start correcting your thinking. We can repeat positive affirmations all day long and you won’t see a change unless you change the way you think. All change first starts in the mind. You have to shift your perspective. This is what the Bible calls “Renewing your mind” to start viewing everything in your life from God’s perspective and not yours.

God’s Perspective Not Ours

We need to look at ourselves from God’s perspective and how He sees us and not our view of ourselves. This concept has the power to change lives. It will give you a new way to see yourself instead of beating yourself up. Shift your perspective and rejoice in the peace that God loves you so much he created you and had a plan for your life my life before He created the world!

Why are we so kind and understanding to our family and friends yet we often talk so badly to ourselves? A lot of the things we say to ourselves we would never say to a friend who is hurting so be KIND to yourself. You are worthy of love!
