The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.”
The Jesus Prayer
“Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me, a sinner.”
This prayer can be modified to only the word “Jesus” and endlessly repeated.
It is a powerful prayer and can be said under any circumstances.

“God, not my will, but your will be done.
That is what I need, and this is what I want.
Give me your will, nothing more, nothing less, nothing else.
Amen.”
The Prayer of Jabez
1 Chronicles 4:10
Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying,
“Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my border!
May your hand be with me, and may you keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!”
Oren Arnold
“Don’t Worry, Pray!
If you worry, why pray?
If you pray, why worry?
Don’t worry about anything;
Instead, pray about everything;
Tell God your needs and don’t
forget to thank Him for His answers.”
Oren Arnold
“Dear God, I pray for patience and I want it right now.”
Prayer of Surrender by Elisabeth Elliot
Loving Lord and heavenly Father,
I offer up today all that I am, all that I have, all that I do, and all that I suffer,
to be Yours today and Yours forever. Give me grace, Lord, to do all that I know of Your holy will.
Purify my heart, sanctify my thinking, correct my desires.
Teach me, in all of today’s work and trouble and joy, to respond with honest praise, simple trust,
and instant obedience, that my life may be in truth a living sacrifice,
by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ, my Master and my all.
Amen.
The Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi
“Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace;
Where there is hatred let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so
much seek to be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love.
For, It is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
It is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.”
The Serenity Prayer
“God, give us grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed,
courage to change the things which should be changed,
and the wisdom to distinguish the one from the other.
Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Amen.”
The Lord’s Prayer
Matthew 9:9 (KJV)
Our Father which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.
Amen.
Part of St. Patrick’s Breastplate
“Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.”
