God is Always Good

God describes Himself in Exodus 34:6-7 as He passed before Moses with the following words: “The LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for the thousandth generation, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, yet by no means clearing the guilty.”

Those are outstanding and righteous attributes. One of the Hebrew names for God is El Elyon which means He is supreme and ultimate. God is pure truth and righteousness. He never makes a mistake because everything He does – every decision, every action is always right and perfect. He is good all the time because He can’t be anything bad or deceitful. He is holiness. If you study the Bible you can see that it’s not in His nature to be anything but love, truth, and goodness. Why wouldn’t you want to turn to Him for guidance and help?

God loves us unconditional and He wants the best for us. Satan comes to steal, lie, and destroy. With such a difference in character why do we usually blame God when something bad happens instead of Satan? God will use our mistakes and turn them into something good but you won’t ever see Satan doing that.

He is the Same God Today as in Biblical Times

God is loving, faithful, wise, gracious, merciful, mighty, and compassionate. He provides for His children’s needs, provides comfort, hope, healing, and can transform you into a new person. God loves to bless His children when they are obedient and faithful to Him as any good father would be. He will discipline you to correct your behavior to be more like Jesus but it’s done in a way that doesn’t make you feel bad about yourself. Guilt and shame are not His way. Those emotions are Satan’s tools. God never changes. He is the same God today as He was in Biblical times.

He fills us with the Holy Spirit to help and comfort us. In John 10:10 (WEB) Jesus declares, “I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.” The first half of this verse tells us the thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. May this scripture inspire you to turn from sin and seek God’s goodness in your life. He always does infinitely more than what we can ever imagine or dream of. Nothing compares to living in the goodness of God and the power of the Holy Spirit.

If you don’t know God, invite Him into your life. It will be the best decision you ever made and you will never regret it. He is an awesome God!!!
