Finding Hope through Suffering
Breath Prayers
Breath prayers are simple and short prayers to God. The Bible tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 to “Pray without ceasing.” Breathing is natural and every breath we take is a gift from God. Combing breath with our petition or praise is powerful. Breath prayers can help calm us down and lift our spirit. It helps us connect with God in a special way.
The first part of a breath prayer is a name of your choosing for God, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit. The second part is a petition or praise from you. Speak the first part as you inhale and slowly exhale speaking the second part.

Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” Having said this, he breathed his last. Luke 23: 44-46 (WEB)
