Parables of Jesus

Parable is derived from the Greek word “parabole” meaning a likeness or comparison. A parable uses something  familiar and compares it to something not so familiar. Jesus used parables to teach important and timeless lessons to help illustrate the Kingdom of God.

Psalms 78:1-2

Hear my teaching, my people.
Turn your ears to the words of my mouth.
I will open my mouth in a parable.

Matthew 13:34-35 (WEB)

Jesus spoke all these things in parables to the multitudes; and without a parable,

he didn’t speak to them,  that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying, “I will open my mouth in parables;  I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world.”
